The results of the Urban Development Contest, started on 21 September 2012, were made public today on the blueFACTORY site. The Contest is a crucial step of the process that ends with the official authorizations of the urban plan, which will be given towards the end of the year. After that, the civil works will start on the site. The objective of the Contest was to define a global scenario that took into consideration a number of factors, such as urban development, heritage, mobility and energy. The jury, composed of 13 members and presided by Mr Jean Bourgknecht, Vice-Mayor of the City of Fribourg, selected 5 projects out of the 25 that had entered the Contest. The winner, Brockmann Stierlin Architekten, from Zurich, will now start working on the Master Plan, which will then initiate the Canton’s Procedure of Affectation (of the ground). Mrs Maja Stierlin declared, “We are extremely happy and motivated by this project, which is so important for Fribourg!” Download the Rapport du Jury and the pictures of the new project. From 2 to 14 April, you can visit the exhibition and see the various projects on the blueFACTORY site, on the ground floor of Hall 1, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on weekdays and from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on weekends. Entry is free. Share your impressions and comments on the blueFACTORY Facebook page and follow the evolution of the project by subscribing to our newsletter.
