You provide the idea, others will make it a reality!

Our blueFACTORY challenge seeks to bring together entrepreneurs and students. Successful business people and graduates from Fribourg’s universities offer ideas, which are then developed and implemented by working groups, made up of current undergraduates. There will also be a four-day “Boot Camp”, which will equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to get their idea off the ground successfully. Your mentoring role will allow you to remain in contact with the working group and to keep track of your idea.

Involvement of Fribourg’s universities

Fribourg University, the Adolphe Merkle Institute, the Fribourg School of Engineering and Architecture, and the Fribourg School of Business Administration are partners of the blueFACTORY challenge. The best business ideas will go forward to the 2013 international mass challenge in Boston, MA, “the world’s largest accelerator program and start-up competition”

Put your ideas into action

The blueFACTORY challenge also includes a four-day “Boot Camp” (10-13 September 2012). On the programme will be:

  • identification of new ideas
  • strategic choice and development of ideas
  • evaluation of business opportunities
  • establishing creative start-ups

Great prizes for the Boot Camp winner

  • Assistance from Fribourg University, the Institut Adolphe Merkle, the Fribourg School of Engineering and Architecture, and the Fribourg School of Business Administration, with a view to participation in the 2013 international mass challenge in Boston, MA, “the world’s largest accelerator program and start-up competition”.

blueFACTORY idea forum

12.12.2011

Work on Fribourg’s new Technology Park is well under way. From today until 29 February 2012, the people of Fribourg and anyone interested in the development of the canton are invited to help shape this exciting project, either by contributing to the idea forum or by submitting their own project proposal.
The new innovation district is projected to be open in 2014. Until then, the park and the idea forum will be known by their working title of “blueFACTORY”: blue to reflect the energies of the future, and factory as a testament to the site’s industrial history.

Project platform and Facebook page

The best ideas are the result of a collaborative effort. The Technology Park is an inclusive project in which any willing contributors can play a role in its development. Do you want to participate? Do you have a proposal for a business or service, or an innovative idea on how best to integrate the park in to the city’s existing landscape? Maybe you want to organize an event at the park.  If so, head directly to “Your ideas”. Alternatively, you can sign up to the blueFACTORY Facebook page and share your opinions on the future of the park with every one interested.
